Comprehensive Contestant

For a professional boxer/kickboxer/mixed martial artist who is 38 or older, or who will turn 38 during this calendar year; and/or who has not fought a professional fight in the last 36 months; and/or has fought over 425 professional rounds and is not under suspension in another state. 

 

**For the year 2024 if you were born in the year 1986, or before, or meet one of the criteria above, these requirements are for you.

COMPREHENSIVE REQUIREMENTS

  • After reviewing all requirements below, contact the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding an application for a Comprehensive Contestant. (702) 486-2575  
  • Two passport size photographs
  • $50 license fee
  • Current Federal ID card - If a professional boxer or mixed martial artist.
  • Line by line total fight record
  • Report of Comprehensive Physical Examination Report Professional Boxer/Unarmed Combatant including an original laboratory report with the fighters name and the date the tests were taken. The HIV test must be done within 30 days of submitting all requirements to become licensed. All other tests can be done within the calendar year.
  • Dilated ophthalmologic examination by an OPHTHALMOLOGIST only - This must be done more than 24 hours before the fight.
  • MRI of brain without contrast and MRA cerebral circulation - If either previously done, forward results for review. The MRA is a one time requirement, unless otherwise ordered.  A new MRI is required every five years.

If any of the testing is abnormal or questionable an appropriate specialist will be consulted. Any and all additional testing and referrals deemed necessary by the original examining physician should be obtained. The additional tests will be valid for a two-year period unless extenuating circumstances occur. Once the commission physician has reviewed the medical data, and your record and ability to compete has been determined, the commission will vote at a public meeting on whether or not to issue a license.
